Aboutthe position:

A Copyeditor is responsible for reviewingand editing PECB’s written materials. The Copyeditor should be able tofamiliarize themselves with the topic and is expected to conduct the necessaryresearch and collect reliable and relevant information to ensure that thecontent is original, easily understandable, accurate, and well-written inEnglish.

The candidate who best fits this positionis usually willing to learn new things, has strong attention to detail, canacquaint themselves with previously unknown topics/concepts, and has excellentEnglish comprehension and writing skills.

MainResponsibilities

·        Reviewand edit written materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, andclarity

·        Assesswritten materials to ensure they are suitable for the target audience, focusingon the appropriateness of language, complexity, and educational value

·        Adhereto PECB’s style guide and editorial standards

·        Verifythe accuracy of information and sources within the written content

·        Keeptrack of the changes and revisions in accordance with company procedures

·        Work closely with contentdevelopment teams and other editors to provide constructive feedback andsuggest improvements

PreferredCompetencies

·        Bachelor’s degree (or should beattending their last year of studies) in English, Journalism, or a relatedfield or previous experience as a Copyeditor

·        Exceptional command of the Englishlanguage, with excellent grammar and writing skills

·        Experience in educationalpublishing or instructional content editing

·        Excellent research skills

·        Knowledge of Microsoft Office(Word, PowerPoint)

·        Strong attention to detail

·        Willing to learn and grow, as wellas to challenge and contribute to ideas

·        Able to work well under pressure ina dynamic environment

·        Excellent interpersonal skills

·        Able to receive and effectivelyrespond to feedback and make improvements on the tasks as requested
